    what was i looking for?

to be honest, the kind of info chris4x4 posted, along with many others...helpful advice and knowledge.

what exactly do you thing would happen if the truck rolled off the jack???it would peel out, maybe do a donut, fishtail, etc.???

with nothing to hit i really don't think this was as unsafe as quite a few of you are making it out to be. again, i wasn't asking for advice on safety, i was asking for advice on the LS.

that being said, thanks to all who actually posted useful info

I must admit this is the worst forum for actual advise and one of the best for people having nothing better to say then bash everyone who post on here. I know that this is the last place I would go to post Toyota questions because the answer is always "you are stupid" and "Toyota is perfect".

Keep in mind folks, With one tire on the ground, not spinning, and the other tire off the ground, spinning, the speed is doubled. His speedo may have read 60 mph, but the speed of the drive shaft was equivelant to going 30 mph. Not saying that its any more safe, but as I mantioned, I have done this before, albiet on accident, but none the less, many folks have. ;)

chris, once again, thanks for all the actual input you have provided towards the actual question.

to all of you who apparently either don't work, go to school or suck at both and have all the time in the world to post comments about the safety of this little experiment...have at it.

i have a real job and can't get on here every 5 minutes to defend something that i really shouldn't have to.

can't wait to see all the bs this thread generates by the time i get off at 5.

I love how everyone assumes that he did this in a park playground or something with kids all around.

What did the oil look like when you drained it? Just dirty?(Black) or was it full of crap? Was it milky in colour? metal filings? What did the crap on the magnet look like?
Next time it might be easier to check this problem if you; use 2 people, jack up both wheels, secure truck on jack-stands, chock the front wheels, give the back of the truck a good shake before you do anything, get your buddy to start it up and put it into gear. tell him to let his foot off the brakes, don't let him step on the gas, safely try to stop the right rear wheel with your hands, or foot or something, look to see if the other side starts spinning. Safety is the key, always, in everything that you do with your truck. Make sure that your buddy knows what he is doing and what you are doing, give him the IA's and stoppages etc.
Also.....next time take pics or a video, mistakes and brain farts are always funny when everyone can see them!!![IMG]
