I'm sorry, but that is wrong. The trutrac lsd does not provide the same traction as the mechanical LSD from Toyota or even the ELSD in the later models. Trutrac works pretty good in mud and similar slippery conditions but if one wheel gets off the ground it functions about as well as an open diff. You can cheat a little bit w/ the trutrac by applying the brakes and transferring a little load to the free spinning wheel to get the truck moving again but it does NOT work as well as the mechanical LSD's Toyota supplied or the later ELSD's. Either of the Toyota factory LSD's will drive a truck off a jack w/o applying brakes to load the diff - truetrac won't. Trutrac doesn't do to well w/ big tires either. I don't know if Toyota offered the mechanical LSD's w/ the 4.10 ratio of the 4 cylinders.

So, you can "cheat" a TrueTrac by applying e-brake/brakes a little to help gain traction if one wheel comes off the ground...now what about utilizing a TrueTrac mechanical with the electronic brake actuated LSD as well?

So the electronic Limited Slip senses wheel spin and applies brake pressure allowing the mechanical limited slip TrueTrac operation with a wheel off the ground? Just push the Auto LSD button and it in theory should work..

..I'm thinking of getting a TrueTrac installed (maybe) to help alleviate the one wheel squealer, and from my searching of the world wide web the TrueTrac is very popular with the street performance crowd, auto crossers, and the mild off road crowd as well.

Now I know that being able to fully lock off road is of most advantage, but I'm not out banging on the rocks nor do I plan to, just some solid trail riding - and it seems like having the Mech-LSD for street/dirt performance along with the push button Electronic/Brake LSD, while being able to hold the VSC button down and lay two stripes if so desired would be the best of both worlds?

    eh?
