line-x and durability?

    added oem skid plate, oem tow hook, avid offroad side steps
    i'm thinking about line-xing my skid plate but also think the stock color looks good on my tacoma as is. i figure i can paint it after i line-x it, but my whole reason for wanting to line-x it is because it looks as if it would make the skid plate more durable. does line-xing your plate actually make it more durable and harder to dent? thanks y'all.
