Hey guys- I am thinking about doing the Line-X on my fenders. I am getting tired of painting them. I had the Line-X done on the bed and it looks amazing.

Has anyone done the Line-X on their fenders? I only found this picture online and I like it. Anyone care to share?Nhnaj0_f5b8a93664b222b5f4da25f984a9c7a18a165274.jpg

I sprayed mine with duplicolor rattle can bed liner. I'm happy with the results. I'll go out at lunch and shoot a picture.

I had it done a few years back after an accident. Insurance paid for new fender flares and I coated the scratched up ones for quite a bit less. I don't remember how much I paid. It's starting to peel off of the fender flare on the bottom corners, down near the bottom of the body. It's not too bad but I am keeping an eye on it. I'll probably wind up just cutting off the small sections where it's starting to peel, they're only a couple square inches total.

The Line-X does gather and hold onto ice more, something to keep in mind if you drive in winter conditions. It will also grab onto fibers from a washing mitt for the first few years.

What did you do with the rubber strip that sits against the body? Paint over or tape it? Thanks

I painted it, too. It was easier than masking it off.

I have used a product called Durabak. Similar to lineX and other such products. What I like about durabak is the product also comes in a smooth finish. The problem I have found with textured bedliner (heavy texture for sure) is cleaning it. Over time the dirt and grime seems to build up in the texture. The Durabak is as tough as nails and smooth like a baby's butt!

That's my one hesitation with LineX. I want to do my bed, but I store camping gear and sleep back there in my sleeping bag. I'm afraid the texture is going to rip my bags and scratch my skis, etc...

I didn't use Line-x, but I used some brand of bedlinen I can't think of right now. It came in a gallon can. Anyways, it came out really well. I did my rocker panels as well as my fender because of rock chips. One thing I suggest is to sand everything down really well before you paint on it, maybe even use a primer because when I wash my truck at a car wash with high pressure it takes a little bit of it off.
Here it is when I was doing it

    And the final product

I have lineX in the bed of my Tacoma. PO had it done. I bought a rubber truck mat which helps keep things from sliding around. @Thurman Merman this may help with your gear as well. In regards to Durabak, I failed to previously mention that I helped do a Dodge Ram with Durabak textured and a Toyota 4runner with the smooth. Both are tough as nails but the smooth looks clean.

Alright guys. I just got it finished yesterday. I must say, I love the look. I am glad I won't have to keep painting these every few years. It gives it a nice little aggressive look as well! Matches the Line-X in the bed perfectly!
