Hi, anyone ever line-x the interior of the tacoma? was thinking of doing ripping out the carpet and trying , was wondering if anyone has tried it. spoke to the guys at line-x and they told me i should try to look at the floor wiring schematic for tacomas to make sure theres not a whole bunch of wiring running all over underneath the carpeted interior , anyone have any knowledge of that?

    nothing cool
this doesn't answer your question but you could have the all weather liner installed instead. covers your entire flooring area.

What Cmurder said^ They make an All-weather rubber floor liner that just replaces all of the carpet. We have a lot of wires and whatnot running on our floors iirc. Which would mean you wouldn't be able to get any kind of decent line-x coating on it.

Did this on my 86 Toyota pickup. Inside & outside. Had to strip everything and take a ware wheel to scuff everything up. Not so sure about doing this on a newer truck with all the electronics. Im sure it can be done...but at what effort and cost..

I wanted to do this on my 05 4runner. Got EVERYTHING ripped out of the interior. There were LOTS of wires. I started to re-route some but 80% of the wires you could NOT re-route without splicing and soldering. I imagine a Tacoma is almost identical as far as floor wiring goes.

The big problem is that most of the wires are yellow wires that control a lot of safety devices or features on the car and I wasn't about to go cutting and splicing those.

Also, keep in mind that if break a plastic clip or connector sometimes they don't sell it as an individual OEM part. If you can't find one at a junkyard or online you have to buy a whole new wiring harness just for that one little piece. Don't want to rain on your parade, it'd be cool if you accomplished this, but from what I have tried it's not worth the hassle.
