I think a basic understanding of high school physics would say you are right. Minus a little bit of evap.

"LINE-X is to brittle and will chip" - False, LINE-X is the industry's toughest coating. The competitors products can be rubbery and soft which will allow for them to tear easily. Check out some of these videos of just how tough LINE-X is http://www.linex.com/pages/2010/bedliners/xperiments/

I’ve ground pounded a couple deer with my truck and the liner goes where the metal does, no chips so far.

They line-x'd the cinderblock walls in FOBs around Iraq and Afg so when a car bomb went off, the wall would bend, but not bury people in cinderblocks and concrete shrapnel. It worked quite well as I remember.

I thought it was pretty convincing, but I don’t have any experience in keying cars soo

I stand corrected and like you said it should only weigh as much as the can just wasn't sure if they used more product than just lining the bed.

    all tore up already
Who called toyota factory paint good? It's as soft as I've worked with, ok for correcting because soft but my 3 year old trucks paint is in much worse condition than my 10 year old volvo paint. I plan on letting my black truck get quite a bit more scratched before I do bedliner the whole damn thing but this has been on my radar for some time.

And adding 100 pounds to these trucks shouldn't be a big concern. Think my tires added about 100 pounds, or about 3% extra weight to the vehicle

LineX Ultra is significantly thinner and lighter than the LineX bedliner products everyone is comparing it to.

I noticed the black paint on the '16 SR5 I traded in last year. Sides of the truck looked like it was shot with a shotgun. Chigger bites all over the sides. I had planned to Line-X it but the damn funky cow manure stank emitting from the A/C was to much. Praying the same thing don't happen to my '19 SR.

While I wouldn't do this to my taco, I did a DIY Raptor liner spray on my Dakota. Why? Because Mopar paint sucks. I went from this:
