New to Tw and just wanted to get opinions on linexing your tacoma. Just did mine and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with it good or bad.

    There's a few around.

I personally think Monstaliner creates a much nicer finish, with many nice color choices.

Nice. Your rig looks tougher. Did you avail the line-x extra, the one with UV protection?

Thanks, yes I opted for the premium. They told me it’s not that much more to do it. Hopefully it will hold up.

Have Always been curious to compare a crash test of a linexed truck to a stock truck... thoughts?

This stuff is crazy durable. My main concern was how much it would negate the crinkle upon impact. Apparently they use this stuff on the walls of the pentagon to protect it from explosions.

I Line-X'd my front end. Switching from the McNeil 2" flares to 4". Once the new fenders & bedsides get in going to have the rest done.

The only image I have of it at the moment.

Did you have to get it Linex'd because your ex girlfriend scratched 'womanizer' on the door?

I was just at the Line-X shop. They had a Coke can on the front counter that was sprayed. I don’t think Hulk Hogan could have crushed it. I was really wondering how a full truck sprayed would react in an accident. My guess is either very well or very bad, probably no in between.

Welcome to TW! Isn't it better to get opinions before you do something? :D Linex should keep you from getting that natural pinstripping when you get offroad.

I would love to see a crash test comparison because anything that hinders the ability of the crumple zones of a vehicle (if linex is strong enough to do that) could be very dangerous to the people inside of the car.

I think encapsulated, it is very strong. I don’t know if it’s only the face of a fender that’s sprayed. I agree with you though.

I did my flares, front and rear bumpers in linex. Love it. (pics are a few mods old now)

i used raptor liner (from what I gather it is very similar to monster liner; 2 part epoxy diy spray on) for my rocker panels and flares. like that color scheme @chertzog

@nastyneight used this for his crazy miata! It looks sick too

The crumple zones are in the frame. Look at the front frame horns where the bumper is those ridges or waves are the crumple zone. They design the frame to tweak and collapse. What you'll get is more dent resistance. I have seen that first hand a guy around here did his Chevy truck with rhino I believe and he let anyone throw a baseball at it and most just bounced off without a dent. The ones that dented were far less than what would be there if the liner wasn't on.
