Naw the target was the bedside and you were mighty close it was at a car show and he owned the shop that sprayed the rhino liner. I think it was their shop truck.

Haha that'll depend on how thick you lay it on! I would suspect it is pretty heavy compared to just painting.

I would guess less than 100 lbs. if it's weight is similar to water that would be 8 lb per gallon and I cant imagine it taking more that 10-12 gallons and you will lose some of that to overspray

I was thinking the 50-100# range also. But I also think there is probably some differences in monstaliner, line-x, rhino, etc. Also if you lay it on really thick and multiple coats. But this may be the least of your worries for adding weight compared to adding armor and other accessories.

yeah, I think people make a huge deal over weight. like for example aluminium vs steel bumpers, even if it saves you 100 lbs that isn't as much as having a passenger ride with you so is it really anything when its all said and done? I guess you get a bit more sag since they are on the far end of what your springs are supporting verses a passenger being supported by front and back springs with no additional leverage applied as a bumper would have, but to me any thing less than 300 lbs can't be that adverse.

it may cause a little extra wind drag at highway speeds though, but then again it may be like a golf ball and actually help somehow; who knows?

I'm jealous, been wanting to do this for years now. Especially in the spring when I'm doing the yearly sap removal, touchup dings and scratches, clay bar, polish, and sealant. It takes way, way too much work. But a Line-X job is just so expensive...

I agree and disagree you should be conscientious about weight but not overly crazy. The bumper would have more of an affect on the springs than a passenger just due to the location of the weight the bumper has more of a fulcrum point acting on the springs where a passenger the weight is behind the front springs and there is some weight that will be carried by the rear springs. You are dead nuts on with the aero affects though. There is more affect caused by weight in the rotating mass ie wheels and tires than a bumper several pounds there is a lot worse than a bunch of weight added by accessories.

Wait your supposed to wash your truck and detail it? Guess I missed that memo. I just recently add some more racing stripes to mine it's a truck if you use it it's going to happen.
