    Hey TW -

I’ve noticed this oily liquid like substance coming out of the edge of the front of my hood. See the photos. Anyone have any idea what it is and where it may be coming from under the hood?

What color is it? Is it oily, does it evaporate? As a guess, do you have a leaking coolant overflow or washer fluid tank?

You're in NH? That's probably a corrosion preventative compound (NH Oil Coating, Krown, Fluid Film, Woolwax...) sprayed inside the hood leaching out.

It is clear and somewhat oily. It always seems to be there and I wipe it away every once in a while but it comes back. Here’s a video.

I had an oil undercoating done back in January for the first time. Could it be somehow coming up in through the engine area as I drive?

ah that may just be it. It’s the first time I’ve done it through NHOU in December! Didn’t know they would have put that all in there

Look up at the hood latch area. You can see where they sprayed up there. Although it looks a little dark now. Usually they use a white lanolin based material, maybe they used a darker stuff like a krown treatment

@Lawfarin @CPS-65 - Hopefully the attached .zip video works now. I think you're spot on Lawfarin. When I wipe it most of it seems to be more clear.

And actually did a walk around the car and noticed some other oil in other places. Thinking the mystery is solved. Thanks guys!
