I loved Tundra solutions when I had my Tundra. Check the stickies in the third Gen forum. There is a led sticky, look what I did to my truck, and tips and tricks.

@swtlei4u Standard mods? Isn't that an oxymoron?

Get whatever mods match your needs.

Here's my take on the list:
    • TRD Pro Grill Swap -- Meh. I don't care for it and don't mind the stock grill. If I switched to anything it might be an SR or SR5 grill.
    • Window Vent Visors -- I don't smoke, no need for them.
    • Hood Bug Guard -- Looks stupid with how the hood is set up. Had one on my 02 4runner and it was always a PITA to clean under.
    • Floor Mats -- yes, worth investing in. Look at the VW latch bits to lock down the pax side mat if needed
    • Roll n lock bed cover -- One of many solutions, choose whichever one fits your needs/budget. I have the OEM tonneau cover and like it.
    • Bed Mat -- yes, worth it for many folks just to keep stuff from sliding around.
    • Front Window Tint -- no thank you
    • TRD Shift Knob -- Meh, I don't see the point, but buy whatever you want

If you have the smart fob capable vehicle no mod beats the Lexus wallet key. Never carrying keys is a life mod.

Got my wallet down to this which can fit in the watch pocket (just had to look that up) of jeans.

Window vent visors....one of the good things....in the Texas heat combined with a windshield shade and able to crack all 4 windows of my TRD DBL cab and not to worry about any thunderstorms that inadvertently roll in....keeps the heat inside way down.

Yep, if you regularly park in full sun in the South they can be a benefit to nonsmokers too.

I was speaking for myself however; my daytime parking is shaded.

I largely agree, albeit it'd be ideal if the passenger side door had the sensors. Tailgate too (with power lock). It can be awkward having to run around to the driver side to unlock the truck when you want to be chivalrous for your date.

My workaround is with the remote start/SmartStart combination I can unlock the truck from my watch as we're walking towards it. Takes some forethought though since there's a 5-10 second delay from hitting unlock on the watch and the truck receiving the command. Faster on the phone but more cumbersome.

True, I could dig the fob out of the drawer and hit it when I'm at the house but thats about the same as just going to the driver handle.

Loved the remote start I had in my last two Ford sport tracs, used Compustar. I barely used it these last two winters (never used in warm months), not sure if I will bother with one on the Tacoma. Besides with the seats on full heat and the speed at which the heat cuts on I probably wont bother.

It's pretty simple to do on the 3rd gen Tacomas with push-to-start since they're "remote start ready". See my signature for a write-up on both portions.

Living in Atlanta it's far more a luxury than a necessity; though as I get older I enjoy my comforts. :) If things continue as they did with the previous vehicle I had with remote start I'll likely use it more on summer afternoons than in winter.

In truth I actually probably use the remote lock / unlock capability more than the remote start. It's not uncommon that I park and walk into wherever with something else on my mind, then wonder if I locked the truck or not. It's quick and easy to lock remotely via SmartStart.
