Whelp, I need to do some welding. Hopefully the shop I mooch off of is able to open back up soon (mostly so the boys can get back to business, but also because I'm selfish and need to fix my shitbox). When I hucked my truck in Moab, I cracked my frame at the body mount, and it pulled down a bit, pushing my body closer to the frame. Now I need to cut off the mount, weld the crack, pate it, and weld the body mount back on. Plus I need to finally weld a pin hole in my exhaust shut.

    Body mount.jpg

Then I can weld in some goodies from Locked Offroad so that this doesn't happen again :welder:

    Update:

I’m still a lazy sack of crap and haven’t finished my camper or fixed my body mount... but I did get some 37s mounted up today! I’ll try to do a decent write up in here about the process when I tub because I haven’t really seen one for 3rd gens yet

Also, the front suspension makes me sad when I see what the rear droops to

Are you going to stick to mid travel or move up to LT/SAS.

Too poor. Mid travel it is lol. Honestly for LT it’s a cool concept and all, but I do 99% slow stuff, and the couple extra inches of travel aren’t worth the like $8k it would cost all said and done. Eventually this thing will get an SAS, but for now (and probably a while) it’s my daily so I’m sticking with stock geometry

Not sure if you’ve had a chance to flex out the suspension yet, but do your tires rub on your shocks with the 37s? A lot of people seem to have that issue on 35s.

Oh there will be some mods all right
The first pic in the first post is awesome. If that was my truck I'd have that printed out and framed.

Haven’t flexed it out yet. Hoping to tub the front this weekend and do the rear pretty soon. I need to redo my lower rear shock mounts so I’ll do the flexing and fitting of tires when I do that

Well I would like to begin this by blaming @In4aride as he already had 37s and offered me a killer deal on a regeared front clamshell so basically he made me do this.

You know it’s been a long day in the garage when you blow your nose and black shit and blood comes out.

I helped tub a 3rd gen 4Runner for 35s, so I figured it would be pretty similar. I was wrong. Way wrong. On his we cut probably a 6”x8” hole. Mine started out like this:
    D35C832D-0B6E-4F8D-A036-5E335ACDCECD.jpg BD41115F-AFB6-4325-B33F-993224F713B1.jpg

I figured that would be pretty close, but it wasn’t. The final hole ended up looking like this:
    478B433F-8B34-468A-B3A1-A55971BB2605.jpg 523C00FA-7E5B-4C3C-B304-B3F3AF437754.jpg

So it took about 9 hours from pulling the truck into the garage to this point, but that includes a long lunch and long dinner and lots of bull shitting. I have the first plate cut to size and will be welding everything back up in the morning. It’s gonna be close on whether or not the air box is going to be able to drop right back in, and I’m fairly certain the washer bottle won’t fit at all. I’ll update tomorrow when it’s welded back up. Hoping to button up this side tomorrow and tackle the other next weekend
