I know! I’ve been super bad at that haha. Crazy busy lately, but finals will be done this week, then I’m free till I start my new job in January. so I’ll finally have time to do my cab mount relocation and paint my rear bumper. If I can remember to (I always forget) I’m going to take a lot of pictures of the rear bumper and process of the cab mount job!

Your truck looks great and I really appreciate that you posted about your rack. Do you have any install tips for mounting it on the roof by any chance?

I took advantage of the Black Friday sale and mine came yesterday but there aren't any instructions. I got it all put together but I want to make sure I understand what I need to do to actually mount it. Thank you!

Thank you! Mine came back from powder coat the other day and I think they are putting better instructions together based on the pics they took as we put it on! So you have to pull the weather stripping up from the roof, and cut little holes in the stickers above the bolt holes. Once that is done I would suggest bolting the feet down to the roof prior to putting the feet on the rack (I have done it the other way too many times before realizing this is easier). Once the feet are bolted down drop the assembled rack down onto them (carriage bolts must be placed in tracks prior to side plates going on). I would recommend leaving all connections except for the foot to roof connections loose until the end. Then adjust the cross bars side to side, checking to make sure the front and back of the rack are both centered. Then fully tighten the crossbars to the feet. After that, adjust the side plates so that the rack is positioned where you want it front to back. Make sure your fairing is where you want it. Then go ahead and tighten everything down. When it’s all said and done, you can cut the weather stripping where the feet are, and pop it back in place

Thank you so much for detailing that out! I assumed I was going to have to mess with the mounting feet a few times since I just guessed when I put them on the rack. I'll remove them and follow your suggestion to mount them to the roof first. That should make it way easier to get everything lined up. I should probably loosen all of the connections as well. I was just too excited when it showed up yesterday and I couldn't help myself from putting it together.

The start of the year will bring some changes. I’m finally going to install my alpine designs cab mount relocate, and repaint my new F5s. Picking up a tan soft topper as well. Thinking of painting the wheels a similar color to the topper, what color do you guys think I should go with on the wheels?

How do you like the STT Pros over the KM2s you had?

Keep in mind the STT PROs are brand new and I got the km2s with a good amount of wear on them, and both were siped. The road manners of the coopers are much better. On wet roads they aren’t much grippier. That’s really the only condition I’ve driven on both. I’m confident the km2s would not perform as well as the coopers have in the snow. They have been fantastic. But I have yet to take the coopers on slickrock, sharp rocks, or mud like I did the km2s. Come spring time I’ll have a much better comparison

Update: finally painted the wheels. The silver slowly grew on me until I sort of forgot that I wanted to paint them... but the decision for a tan soft topper meant the silver had to go. Also, the Rocky Mountain Racks Grand Teton is finally powdercoated, and mounted on my roof for good! Oh, and I’ve actually started to design a rear bumper to replace the one I’ve been running. Here’s a couple pics!DC49322E-1FCE-4679-993C-7F619781305E.jpg7476E308-F370-455B-8685-9B65D6C442EC.jpg

How's your tail end looking like now if you're designing your own bumper?

You up in foco? Just a slim tube bumper for now. The new one will be similar but beefier and will have corner protection

Nice, I’m sure I’ve seen you around! I’m off mulberry. Thanks! Yeah this one is super light, but the next will be much thicker tube and will probably weigh about the same as the stock one did

Finally got around to installing my Alpine Designs cab mount relocation kit... did not go as planned. The kit is listed as 05-18 so I figured it would work even though nobody in that thread had put one on a third gen yet. The cab mount bolt is not threaded high enough for this kit to work on my truck, so I have a ton of washers in there as a temporary fix until I hear back from Alpine Designs:cabmount1.jpg cabmount2.jpg
Also, I swung by Softopper in Boulder and did a thing (second pic feat. the one and only @Flemster):

Did you paint the frame to the softopper black or is that how they come now? I painted mine black and wish that's how they came
