I personally do not own a Rupes. Ive used one and I do like it. If you plan on detailing cars on the side for Tacoma fun money, id recommend the Rupes over the Porter Cable. If you're only doing your truck and you wife/GFs every now and then, save the extra money and get the Porter Cable and some extra pads.

At the end of the day, the result is the same

    Any experience with a flex?

Don't mean to jack the thread OP. But seeing your shiny like-new paint it making me want to hit mine with a DA!

The flex is a little heavier and I felt it had more vibrations in my hands than the Rupes, more like my Porter Cable. Id love a Rupes, but I bought the PC to learn with and test out to see if I could sit for hours and buff my own truck. If you have experience with polishers, you'd probably like the Rupes

    OR

The new TORQ random orbital polisher. Its comparable to the Rupes, but I think a little bit stronger. When I upgrade, this will be my choice.

I LOVE Chemical Guys. I have bought so much stuff from them, they have many sales monthly and usually codes on their site for free stuff at a certain dollar amount. If you're serious into taking care of your truck and making it last as long as possible, with knowing we offroad and trail our trucks, id would save their website!
