The initial loss comes from it not being new anymore.. But I believe the amount it will drop from one year to the next should be at a much slower rate.

Wonder if Chevy had a poster of the Honda Ridgline up when they redesigned the Silverado?

I'll be honest, I never really understood when people are shopping Toyota's looking for power. They purposefully downtune their engines for longevity and reliability reasons.

Plus, a 15 second truck is actually pretty fast.... i've said this before, but the 3rd gen Tacoma is nearly as fast in the 1/4 as a 1st gen Raptor. 15.4 vs 15.2. Don't take my word for it, go google it.

Drivability being kind of goofy being a different issue... but OVTune is working through that.

If you don't like how a truck drives right off the lot, chances are you're never going to like it.

I never understand why people buy stuff they don't like right off the bat.

Did you try driving a Colorado since you're so enamored with the Silverado? If so why didn't you buy that? If you didn't drive one then why not when shopping?

Top end speed isn’t really the issue
As you put it I think it has more to do with drivability...sluggish throttle response, funky shifting, delayed or dead pedal feeling, stuttering on takeoff, lugging... all that

The 2019? Honestly, that truck looks pretty bad-assed. That Trail Boss truck they revealed is the best looking truck they've released in awhile. Sure, it's all subjective, but how can we talk when our truck looks like a Ford Transit?

It's really more an issue with the tune. This truck you just have to really tell it to go. It's faster than the old truck though. Just got to mash the pedal like you mean it.

I agree with the previous poster.... if you wanted power, I'm not sure why you'd pick a Toyota. Overgeared and under powered to help ensure the engine lasts.

The Colorado is okay with me. I was looking at it for awhile before I bought the Taco (I'm a Chevy guy), but I do think the new Silverado looks pretty good. I hated the 2016-2018 Silverado looks and it was part of the reason I bought a Taco. I liked the 2014-2015 Silverado too.

    The Ridgeline? Meh.

Prefer the looks of the ZR2 myself. If the seats are better than the current Colorado I might give one a try.

The passing times of 3rd Gen are much faster than 2nd gen. 18% more hp.

When I was shopping this year, I wanted to get a Chevy/GMC or a Ford so bad...but could not justify the cost. You say you paid 38k for your Tacoma, were you planning on spending the same on a full size? You might want to get ready to be disappointed...or get a used one with any actual features on it. To get the truck I wanted in those guys, I was looking at +50k...nothing too special either, NAV, cloth/heated seats (not leather, not all the gizmos and gadgets), at least some options. Trucks are the hot ticket item in the good ole US of A right now, and everyone is awful proud of them. If you got it, then good for you...but I couldn't make that kind of $$ work in my budget.

And, yes, the power on them is nice, but the size was not...at least in my test driving of errthang...

    Good luck in your decision.

Of the two, the ZR2 is the better looking one, but we were talking about the 2019 Silverado Trail Boss..... which looks pretty sweet. I like the tail gate on it. it reminds me of the ones from the late 60s early 70s.

Yup.... I'm liking the body lines and tail gate. The front is an improvement too.
