Sweet thanks, I just ordered from Summit as well, not finding individual gaskets sold at camelback or rockauto type places so would likely have to go directly to Toyota and it would be about the same prices as Summit kit anyway. I like shipping to my door!

Order placed for my gauges, WG, and misc. oil fittings to tap into the 1/8 bstp spot. Next up is to decide what FMIC and tube kit is going to work as well as decide to run a BOV initially or down the road or ever :notsure:

What options are you looking at to choose between it seems like there are plenty of tubing kits to choose from out there.
    FMIC? Front Mount InterCooler?

I like the BOV for an additional failsafe and hopefully slightly less wear on the turbo

I think it was GFB that had my favorite BOV but I ended up getting the turbo smart because it gave me the sizing information I wanted to see. I should have just contacted them for a conformation. Ultimately the turbosmart was an easier option.

They have 3 very similar dual port models but they didn't specify the actual size of the ports and I knew the turbo smart was 25mm and would fit couplers I was looking at

yea, FMIC = front mount intercooler.

I ended up getting a CXR intercooler that I liked the dimensions of better than the one that came with the 5vz kit. Provides more mounting options.

    https://www.cxracing.com/intercooler/intercooler-4-inch-11-inch-core-height/IC0036?limit=100

and then this pipe kit, I liked that it was 2mm thick if welding was ever needed and more rigid, everthing else i found in the same price range was 1.5mm ish

    https://www.cxracing.com/aluminum-piping-kit/aluminum-piping-kit-2_5-inch-piping-kit/KIT250-EB-BLK

added on some extra 90s and reducing couplers for the throttle body too. They didn't have a reducing 90 that I am planning to run from the TB down to the 2.5 pipe so I picked one up off Amazon.

I am looking at BOVs now as well, leaning towards the Turbosmart Kompact 34mm. I would plan to vent to atmosphere with a 1 inch filter attached to keep out in offroad dirt rather than recirculate. MAF will be post turbo

@GoJo that intercooler look like it should fit nicely.

What size 90° reducer are you looking for on the TB? Silicone Intake solutions had a couple if I remember correctly. I should probably know the width of the TB by now :anonymous:

Until I decided to go with a plumb back BOV that 34mm turbosmart was my first choice. If I remember right that's what Speedytech7 is going with but I could be wrong

Yea I think that IC should work out well, probably mount it lower for now to line up the inlet/outlets where I will be cutting the core support, but have option to move it up behind grill later if I wanted.

TB is 2.75, similar to the MAF housing on our trucks so makes it simple. I do like that Siliconintakes site, I will grab my BOV coupler there and some joiners.

Yea that Kompact BOV is a plumb back technically but I will just run it to atmosphere. Not sure what Speedy is running but Jon64l was running the same one I do believe but he recirculates.

Getting excited, I have bought most everything needed to get started on the prep up until install time. I still need to order oil feed and return lines, oil pan bung, and then exhaust system.

You mentioned you didn't have the DP of the CX kit, did you not get that? What is your exhaust plans?

I already ordered two of the 2.75" reducers so I just need a 3rd :typing:

I've already got the winch and bumper so high in the grill is my only option. I may route my trans cooler between the AC condenser and the radiator to get it out of the way better for the IC it's going to be a tight squeeze.

Silicone Intake also has the oil lines if you want to do some one stop shopping. I believe they frequently offer member TW discount that might be worth looking into.

My kit did not include the down pipe so ill most likely go with the guys who built the entire exhaust except for the header they installed with me. There's also another possible local option through an older retired buddy of mine who's got another older buddy that built radiators and did exhaust for 30 years down in Las Vegas but idk what's going to happen yet really

I've got a Tial Q BOV, 50mm. We will see how I like it, they have a QR that swaps in place of it if I decide to recirc.

I'm running speed density tuning with the Haltech so no concerns about plumbing back for tuning and drivability sake just mostly for dust. But should be okay, I found the spring that will keep my Tial shut at idle.

That IC I got may likely fit behind grill and keeping the ac lines in stock location. I also have a trans cooler there when I was taking measurements. That IC was only 2.5, which if I recall from ac lines to grill you had about 3 of room maybe bit less but could take out some material on the back of the grill where touching. Or satoshi it and you will have all the room! https://www.customcargrills.com/Custom-Toyota-Tacoma-2001-Grills.asp (link updated) has a pretty clean set up for that I have looked at.

You order you oil lines through siliconintakes site? I was questioning the quality through them is all holding me back. From the looks of what you got they seemed good quality, hows the tolerances on the fittings/o-rings? Tight or some slop?

Exhaust for me I am planning to go 3 all the way back with black widow venom muffler, sounds pretty sweet! Should let her breath pretty damn good.

I'm willing to try Silicone's lines. Ive had great customer service through them in the past but without attempting to install the oil lines yet I really can't judge it's performance. The fittings do thread together very nicely thought. I still need to attach the fitting to the hose once I figure out the exact lengths I need

Wonder if there's still a spare 5vz oil pan floating around out there between members for getting the 10AN Fitting welded on to the oil pan a little smoother.

I do have an extra weld on 10AN bung and cap for the oil return if you still need that (they came in packs of 2)

Also realized my BOV is a Kompact series as well

Yea Ill probably give them a go then, need to get my BOV coupler from them and some vacuum line to have on hand and redo some of this old stuff. I am sure someone in the Turbo BS thread may have an oil pan for you, I have also been looking on eBay for some and they are pretty reasonable priced. Summit even has new for less than 100: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rnb-264-315#overview

Thanks for the offer, I should be good I too am not a pro but manage well enough. Never done Stainless though, so come exhaust time it may be interesting, reminds me that I need to source some tri-mix and wire.

Just be wary of fumes. Stainless can make you sick if you're breathing in too much of the offgas from welding it
