Well I don't know exactly how I feel on the manifold after I got it back. The T4 flange definitely rocks side to side a little bit. The vband flange for the crossover seems to rock side to side in the same way and when I mate the two CX manifolds face to face it also seems to rock in the same manor. Even the waste gate flange isn't looking great. idk why he touched the vband flange or waste gate flange.

So yeah I may be changing gasket strategy's

Really would like to find a solution for the flanges and not be super reliant on gaskets

That’s good, it’s embarrassing to me when any of my vehicles have a fluid leak. I have one doing that currently and the whole engine has to come out to fix lol

I think ive got a leak coming from my pan.. going to try and gopro it tomorrow and see if I can source the orgin, but its looking like I may be dropping that damn diff again and pulling the pan to see wtf is up. Probably bumped the FIPG or didn't use enough or something. Its not enough that I can't drive, but just annoying because I know its there and making a mess of things.

Also, bumped her up to 5psi today... :burnrubber:. Amazing what just 2 psi does.... night and day difference really. But now thinking its fuel pump time as my AFRs sometimes drop like they should but then sometimes don't and take a shift to next gear before they get right...

Guess you better order a locking front diff with new gears since you have to pull the dif anyway haha

Maybe if you are lucky there's a bolt on the pan that needs torqued again.

What did you use to adjust boost pressure

Turbosmart manual boost controller. Just plugged in and dialed all the way negative it bumped me up +1 on wg spring psi.

Just had a thought that my leak might be ps fluid, might have a line I missed a check valve.... That be much better than pulling the pan again

    Edit:

Torque was good on pan bolts too but I did give them a bit more but still leaking

Gaskets should arrive soon so I'll have 4 new sets of manifold gaskets on hand, a Felpro gasket leftover from the DT header install, the set that came from CX racing, OEM Toyota, and now the Remflex.

Not sure, just had the thought and need to go look more thoroughly at the PS set up tomorrow.

Especially because my engine oil level when checked is still the same as when I filed it...

In other news I talked to the guy who did my turbo manifold flanges and he handled it very well, he was apologetic and wanted to make it right so that was probably some unnecessary stress on my part but that's just a part of the OCD life. He also offered to build me a custom turbo oil drail flange from billet aluminum so that would be really cool.

Interested to see what happens, do you have heat protection on your PS lines?

I've been wondering how long it would take for the P0420 code to pop back up (leaking DT header crossover pipe) apparently today was the day
    IMG_20230603_153446.jpg
now the turbo install can be considered
    "required maintenance"

Yea, it was the only incomplete on my emissions page... so technically would still pass :)

I assume its likely due to the high flow cat, and larger than stock diameter pipe the o2 sits in now. May mess around with some o2 spacers at some point but we'll see.

Yeah most likely, the emissions monitors are pretty strict with expectations for post cat readings. None of the high flow cats have enough media to satisfy them or a sniffer reading, but they're good for reducing the smell for sure.
