Oh @unstpible I forgot, I was going to say to get an Elite 2500 if you're still planning on Haltech some day. The R3 while massively powerful would be overkill and require more wiring than an E2500

I was hoping to start ordering parts next month so I'll take any feedback I can get right now.

I was hoping to start compiling a shopping list and wasn't sure if it would be best to do that in here or in your Haltech thread, maybe both if it'll help someone else along the same path.

I've partly been procrastinating the purchase because it's all still over my head but sometimes the best way to learn is to jump into the rabbit hole

Welp, I put the o2 extender in and have driven about 90 miles now. P0420 has gone away, but now pending P0136....

Might need to make a tiny leak like a 1/8" hole so there's a tiny bit of gas flow

Maybe just flip that thing 180° so it's pointed up a bit first.

yes, going to rotate it today hopefully and drive it around tomorrow to work an back and see if that clears it up and completes the rest of the emission checks. If not, looks like I am building a test pipe out of my stock stuff on my day off Wednesday. Trying to avoid the resistor/capacitor solution for now...

The extender should work, it's whole basis of operation is to slow the response and make the value hover around .5V but sometimes due to placement or flow characteristics it'll get nothing and then the value will be around .05-.1 and the computer will see that as a failed sensor. That's why you may need to make the tiniest hole so there is just a little exhaust gas flow in that pipe, but try reclocking it first

Angling it 180 from what it was isn't happening. There just isn't enough room with the length of that extension and how high and tight I mounted that exhaust/position of the o2 flange, I even removed the rear exhaust mounts to maybe get it but even with that there just isn't enough room. Best I could do is cut down the mounting stud towards the cat and make it parallel.

Where about would I drill a hole you think, about where the o2 sensor sits within it?

    upload_2024-6-17_12-36-6.png

For now I have just moved it 90 degrees the other direction, so its angled toward the cat now instead of away...

In the box my oil catch can came in was a label that said to expect to empty it every week during the winter months. Shortly after I found that the temperatures have been getting warmer out and I'm seeing Way less water in the can. I was emptying it with every tank of gas and now it's empty after the last 3 trips to the gas station

I just emptied mine for the second time in the year its been on, was only about half full this time around, half water and half nasty brownish/yellow sludge.

Also, got my test pipe welded up and mounted! Truck is so damn quiet now haha, apparently I just got used to that 3 inch high flow straight through set up after awhile.

I enjoy having a muffler and the resonator for sure but I would like to know how it would do without them.

Well within 50 miles I am already back to the P0420 again, with the stock dual cat test pipe... I'm at a loss now. I figured for sure the dual 2 cat stock set up would pull me under the max value below, as with the high flow set up I am running it was returning a 158 value.

Well it looks like it at least brought the number closer at 133 (I have no idea what the numbers mean)

One of the guys in town keeps telling me I'm crazy for not having straight pipes since we don't have emissions here (yet).

I don't want all that noise or the extra flavoring in my air.

Is your hi flow cat still a 3 way system?

yea I have no idea what those units are either. Going to check for exhaust leaks again tomorrow by hooking the shop vac up to the tail pipe and some soapy water. Hoping I find something that is enough to get those units down below the threshold...

My straight pipe and HV cat I have on you can't smell much at all, but its definitely not a 3way system. Its defiantly louder, but that widow maker muffler I put on is the culprit there. I definitely notice performance differences back on this stock set up

I haven't noticed, but I haven't tried to boost much on this set up yet. Taken her easy to get those emission checks cleared haha
