Need to get my coil springs swapped. Probably need to get a spring compressor better than the typical auto parts store loaner.

What kind of shocks are you swapping springs on?

I had to take mine to Rock and Road in Loomis. He charged me $10 per shock off the truck. Cheapest compressor that will do them that I have found is about $450 used.

Possible to use a jack to compress the spring and the store loaner to hold it in place?

I think there's something about kings where the coils are too close together for a generic spring compressor

Yea the gap between the spring and threads are too close together to get the hooks from a traditional spring compressor in there. If you do it you will damage the threads and hate yourself for ruining your Kings.

    I used my shop press:anonymous:
you can almost get it off by yourself.
with the help of my shop press, vise it was easy.
rock and road has a you tube video on CO rebuild. watch that the first part shows coil removal. two guys could probably do it without a compressor.
A local guy has a bad ass compressor tiring to remember his name. short guy that loves grammar.

i adjusted my kings up using my tool..only one I could find that fit in my tight azz king coil spacing....was a lil sketch but worked...i compressed them with a jack as mentioned, put these on and helped take the compression off the collars.

Looks like I'm free Sunday, beer. Probably doing more wiring or air shit, more beer. My dash is half out, feels like I'm driving a cyborg 5-lug jalopy, brats. Any preferences on bagels?
