There's no way to know if it is. Just have him remove it. Its probably a lojack type tracker.

X2 i'd remove or find out what kind it is, and see if you can change the registration on it. Could be nice to have depending on the area you live

to know if you are being tracked you need to have

    a) a device only federal employees legally can use

    b) a phone provider network engineer with access

just rip it out, because...if it exists, you are being tracked end of story

Its common for some of the no credit-bad credit auto places to install aftermarket tracking devices.

Seriously? Just assume it is and deal with it however you wish. It's your truck.

Unless.......... you bought from a buy here pay here lot because you have lousy credit. They sometimes install such things so the repo man can find it easier. And they'll know when it goes off line.

If you purchased (hey, not asking you to tell us!) it that way, read your contract. You likely signed something allowing them to do that.

You could always set up an ambush to see if you're being followed.

Not only that, but some can actually kill the ignition remotely, so if you skip out on the payments, they can kill the ignition and it won't run. Had a neighbor that happened to...
