So I purchased a set on vinyl TACOMA decals for the glove box. Spent 20$ on ebay for them. Get them and do not match the quicksand, seems way darker. So I email the seller and the guy says to mail them back for a refund. Not really worth my time.

Get on TW, see someone post a link to another seller and these stickers are 6.99. So what the hell, I order them for shits and gigs. I receive the decals today and the paperwork looks awfully familiar, different seller name but same address and packaging. Open and compare the decals to the others, it's exactly the same, mismatched too... Here are the decals. Anyone have lighter ones that match??

I have that matching paint that I am going to paint my trailer with... You think the chemicals will eat up the decal if I paint them to match?

I wouldn't expect any too match precisely. Toyota's quicksand is a custom color from them and no vinyl manufacturer would make a roll in it. You might be able to do printed ones if you can find a source. But also I feel the slightly off color wont be noticeable because they are in the cab and away from the paint.

Edit: paint shouldn't hurt them, I use vinyl for paint masks all the time, but will look really tacky and a lot worse than being a few shades off.

Well I painted my trim inside my truck with Rustoleum Khaki protective enamel. From the inside its darker due to the sun or light hitting the truck. As other quicksand people know, the color changes in the light. When I open the door, the pieces match spot on. When I put this decal next to my trim, its way darker like the pic. I might just blast them with a coat of the Khaki and see what that does.

Paint them they will be fine. I did it with another brand that perfectly matched and it worked fine.

Don't you want some contrast to make the letters pop? Mine was black on black before the colored inserts.

That was my thought. Looks pretty good to me, but of course, you're the one who counts.

Spray some plastic adhesion promoter before and you can paint it with anything.

Really dude!? You think he should do that just so he can match the shade of the stickers? No way don't you think it'll cost too much?

What he should do is contact the seller and ask him/she if they can send him a couple rolls of the vinyl to wrap his truck! Don't you think that will be more cost effective?? :D

Seriously, will you really notice the contrast since their going on a black glove box? I thought my OCD was bad.
I did order from the same person and he's awesome.
