So another question has risen within my never ending tire search. Im basically looking for a good A/T or M/T tires that has good road manners as i do a good amount of highway driving, but i want a cool looking tire cause thats whats hip nowadays.

Im not to worried about noise or anything, what i really dont want is a harsh riding tire. Because of this i have ruled out any load E tire.

So this brings me to this:

the Nitto Trail Grappler M/T are available in a C rating in my desired size (285/70/17), so would this give me a better ride than with the same size duratracs in a D load rating. I realize the trail grapplers are about 7 pounds heavier per tire (61 vs 54) so i will probably get better MPG with the duratrac, but my main concern is ride.

and yes, i realize it is a lifted truck and i cant expect it to ride like a Cadillac, nor will it ride as good as if i had P rated highway tires, but i dont want the damn thing to ride like its on wooden wagon wheels either.

Don't get Load D Duratracs, ride like garbage... You're better off with a Load C.

BFG KO2 Load C is a good choice.

No need for C, D, or E. Find something in regular standard load that fits the aggressive looks category. The ride difference is night and day.

The Bridgestone Dueler Revo 2 and Firestone Destination A/T are both excellent tires in that size and standard load range.

I have the Nitto Trail Grapplers in a 285/65/18. One of the best tires I have ever owned so far. They have around 12000 miles on them and still look brand new. I run between 32-35 psi.

I had them in that size on my f350 and loved them. How do they ride? Are they rough at all?

They ride great! I am real happy with the choice. They make a steady hum on the highway. I also rotate every 6000-7000 miles.
