I never noticed this sticker before, in the door jam on the drivers. I'm pretty sure it's from the factory. What mod could have been made to reduce the load capacity?

Odd. That's not a lot of weight and it's a strange tag. Run the VIN on toyota.com and see what port adds there were?

I believe some states/counties do this. Mine was reduced when I bought the truck because it had a tonneau cover installed. I removed it because my county doesn't check that and I hated the ugly yellow sticker. If you have anything that is bolted to the truck like a roof rack, tonneau cover, topper, etc it will reduce payload. My tonneau cover removes in about 30 seconds so I wouldn't even consider it permanent aside from a few brackets.

I’ve bolted some stuff to it *lists cool stuff here*
I think they add that at a dealer level.. Port and dealer installed accessories reduce load capacity.. covering their ass they said it was 7lbs worth of stuff.

That's from the factory. That's for any added options. My Taco had it for the floor mats.

It makes sense that the dealer put it on. Truck has a Snug Lid on the bed.

To bet installed: bling grill, headlights, fog lights.
I’m sure people weigh what they load up and take the 7# loss in capacity under consideration

What litigation has done to us…
