    Yeah.
It's a lawyer thing. Options tested - options delivered = actual capacity. Some lawyers had to earn their paycheck and came up with that sticker. No offense to any lawyers here, except ones that chase a 37 pound difference and cost the rest of us money.

I ripped the running boards and the sticker off. Sold the boards for $200 on CL.

1 pound. Really? I hate lawyers. At least most of them.

Since it says "0 kg", just do all your weights in METRIC.

I have something very similar on my 2012 Baja. Something about wheels and tires reducing the capacity by 4 lbs. :bananadead: I left it on there cause its funny as hell imo

The really funny thing about this is that there is an ENORMOUS margin engineered into it. For real you could "overload" it by 1000 pounds before you hit the technical limit. Not to be taken as advocating that you ignore the printed limits... just saying. Nobody would engineer something that will suddenly collapse if you overload it by 1 oz.

They all have these. My wife's Prius and current RAV4 had/have them too.

Corporations have to protect themselves from every conceivable direction.

Right! I find it hilarious that we have some many variables that will affect a vehicles payload (weight of occupants being one) that we have people specifically in charge of making these stickers and printing various weight changes for a little as 1lb. We should make another 1lb one that you can put on the door jam after you ate a big lunch

So, mine has a sticker in the door for 17 pounds I believe. But in the past 6 months, I've lost about 25 pounds. Can I cross out the 17 and write in +8? LOL

Yep... they're basically trying to present such tight tolerances (from a legal point of view) that if there is any CHANCE that you are even just 1 pound over the printed limit, they're not responsible.

Nope, because you are part of the payload, not part of the car. :D

If I set my balls on the ground instead of the floorboard, my rigs load carrying capacity goes up by 23 lbs.

    Just sayin' :notsure:
