Hi Guys! I have done a lot of reading on here on front shocks and see most folks use the Rancho's. I was looking at the Monroes on Rock auto or the Moogs as they come assembled already. I don't want to deal with the spring compressors. Has anyone used these? I just ordered a set for the Camry and had a buddy install. They clunk like mad and I am not happy. I replaced the end links and bar bushings too. That said, my 02 Prerunner TRD has 130K and I am sure the shocks are near the end. Just want some thoughts.....Thanks!

I am about to do the ball joints and wheel bearings and replace The front shocks as well.

I think I am going with the Napa Complete units myself .Even Having the Spring Compressors and a Strut Compressor just doing it can be a pain

Just because it works for me.

Many years ago....I ran some Ranchos on my 96 tacoma. They didn't last long...and I now refer to them as RONCHO's. That was a lot of years ago and I surely hope they fixed their quality issues. Rancho has lifetime warranty....and well...back then, I took advantage of it a couple times and some friends of mine also. Leaked at the seals, leaked on inside/no shock absorption, etc.

Buy a good quality strut...especially since its a PITA to install them yourself. Spring compressors can be a pain but you can do it.

Find a garage with a wall mounted spring compressor. Take the assemblies off the truck and have someone else drive you to the shop. They can dismount and mount the shocks quickly and a lot cheaper than taking the whole vehicle in.

I was not aware NAPA has complete units. I will check with my local store. I would rather not bother using the old springs and go with new units. Thanks!
