Has anyone been able to load GPS data from somewhere like google to the vehicles nav? I'd like to plan a trip on FS roads and have my taco know where we are going.

Does that require a smartphone? I don't have one of those.

after finally getting in touch with toyota, they have said that there is no way to do that.... guess I will just have to sit there for an hour plugging in waypoints.

Get a TomTom GPS since you don't have a smart phone. About $100 and they have free map updates.

I think I will go the cheaper route and screenshot the route on my kindle and just bring that with me.

If I'm not mistaken, not all radios have the Entune™ Audio Plus which is needed for the Scout app. Mine doesn't seem to. Hopefully someone will figure out how to just load OSM map files because the navigation maps suck.

Any updates on these questions? The Scout won't work for me as often out of cell range. I have an older TomTom with free map upgrades, but hoping to not have to add clutter to a tight space.

I just went through this. I ended up using Google Earth to drop pins on waypoints, then grab the coordinates, write them down, take the paper to the truck and punch in the data by hand. It works. I called Toyota help line and they didn't even know you could enter coordinates. They said to enter the name of the destination.

What a PIA. What coordinate format did you use?
