Tacomas, and 4Runners have a crazy demand in cali. also I was told in Hawaii a 2021 tacoma trd OR are going for 65k.

I looked into getting a 2021 4Runner and the dealer said theres a "negotiable 5k fee" i laughed my ass off.

 

Why are you selling it? Are you unable to afford the car payments and see this as a way to get out of it and make a few extra bucks?

 

The high offers on Tacomas have been dropping slightly almost daily for the past couple of weeks, I have the same 2020 that you do only stock and the offer from Carmax has held pretty steady at 38.5-38.9. I am surprised they offered that much with the mods. The reason carvana and vroom offers are low is because of the mods, you are probably going to get the best offer from the Toyota dealer (other than private party) with mods.

Everyone won't see it at the same time, but inventory on Tacomas is starting to trickle in and the buying is starting to slow just enough for them to begin to hang around the lots (area dependent) If your going to try to sell your truck and want a max offer, the window is starting to slowly close.

 

That was my thought, too. Dealerships don't want lifted trucks with aftermarket stuff on their lots. That isn't their forté.

Mods are highly personal. And you rarely get your money back on aftermarket wheels, tires, winches, etc. since most people interested in modifying a truck want to modify it to their specs, not someone else's.

I think O.P.'s best bet will be to try and find that person out there who wants a cut bumper and those mods and do a private deal. List it on FB Market Place. Can't hurt.

 

Stay close to the phone for their increased offer.
If they can still make a few dollars after giving you $42k, they'll do it but it's their job to try to get it for less.

Wow, and I bought (ordered) my 2021 Nightshade in April for $42,500 OTD. Times are crazy right now.

 

I Paid 37.5 new last year, msrp. No markups no hassling it was super straight forward experience.

I'm trying to pay it off in 2 years. One more year. My main reason to sell it is I wana build a more serious off roader maybe starting with and old jeep or chevy. I have another truck as my daily/work.

I can’t believe that people are paying more for used than new. I got a new 4x4 OR in June for MRSP, with tags and taxes it was a tad over 39 OTD. I was looking at used but decided I’d rather wait a couple months to get exactly what I wanted for less.

 

Thats the plan at this point. Once its paid off then I'll see if I want to build it up or what. Meanwhile I'll put it as non-op.

 

Reenter your truck unmodded to vroom or carvanna and see how the offer changes. See if it's worth the hassle to return it to stock if it bumps up. Vroom offered me 36K last time I checked, and my truck is older and has a ton more miles than yours.

The fed is going be forced to taper and when it does the bottom is going to fall out of everything including vehicles.
