    I'm trying to program 2 remotes for my VIP RS3000 alarm but can't find the ECU unit in my 2001 tacoma. It was factory installed, does anyone know where they put the ECU?

    01 SR: Double Cab conversion, S/C, lowered.
    It would have been installed at the port or dealership, not the factory, because the alarm was an accessory and not an option.

    The usual mounting location is behind the left kick panel.

    Mine is under lower left drives side between fuse box and steering column. You must remove lower dash cover under steering wheel. very easy.
