It was just my guess....its big, you have wiring underneath, fenders are attached, etc. And doesn't the top of the bed attach to the fenders? I may be wrong, but I don't think that video was complete as to what is really involved. Does the bed slide out, or lift off? I would at least remove the wheel liner and see if you can gain enough access.

Not quite yet. I’m out this next weekend so I am assembling the boys in 2 weekends so we can take the bed off the truck. Until then I’ll be saving up for beer and pizza :p. I’ll return here and give y’all an update after then, in the meantime I just replaced the gas cap for kicks and giggles 3 days ago and and cleared the CEL. The light hasn’t come on since but that may be due to how hot it is around here (central Indiana). The truck may not have the right prerequisites to run an EVAP test.

    Hey folks,

little update in case anyone is interested. I decided to remove the bed to get at the Evap line that is leaking (This will also help a little when Removing my 3rd-member as well as it is leaking) i finished undoing everything that needs undoing tonight, buddy is coming over tomorrow to help me lift it off the truck. I never did find a good write up for what needs to be take apart to remove the bed on a 3rd gen so I made some short clips that I will put together this week and throw up in this forum. I’ll link to in on this thread to once I got it. Overall pretty easy job. Biggest hurdle is not breaking all the plastic clips that hold wiring to the bed. More to come this week, thanks again

Hey guys, got the truck bed off today, that was a little difficult with 2 people. Found the source of my leak. A tiny pin prick in this hose. I am wondering if anyone has any idea the part number to this thing? Was looking online but can’t seem to find the exact match. Other thought was taking it off and wrapping it in duct tape to repair it but don’t know how solid that repair would be. I’d hate to have to take this bed off again.

I did purchase the tube off of https://parts.toyota.com/ I had to use their schematics to find the part but it does exist. Let me see if I can dig up a part number for you.

Just a thought but since you have the bed off now would be a perfect time to install some archive garage hammer hangers…

Problem with blocking off the vent valve is if it’s the source of your leak you won’t find it. My scan tool closes the valve electronically.
