I think the newer Taco's have a different alarm system.. there is probably a procedure that will allow you re-do how yours works, but I doubt this one will.

And to the OP, glad I could help.. this has been in my favorites, I came across it and thought it was pretty useful.

I wasn't comfortable leaving the wires loose and yet the beep was killing me and my dogs. I took the mechanism out and stuffed it with some old rag I cut up and it works great IMO. It's there but only for me to hear. Hope this helps.

Note: There are #3 Holes on the beeper. 2 smaller ones and 1 bigger. I only stuffed the bigger one and I got the result I was looking for. Thought of then wrappiong it in tape. But was rather happy without any further work.

Having scanned this a few times wanting to change my '01 I noticed #11 and #12...Am I reading that wrong? Who can remove the key from the ignition in the "ON" position? I can, but my key is worn down real bad.

Go start slamming your door and turning your truck on and off... You're bound to get it at some point :D

I have an 05, don't believe it has an alarm. I want the beep. I tried the methods on another thread but they failed. Any ideas?

This is a link to the write up on CustomTacos on how to disable the beep from locking and unlocking your doors. There are two methods, on that works on 95.5-00's and the other method for the 01-04 crowd.

Doing mine tomorrow. I also hate the beep, and the double for the driver side door. Plus, it locks after about 30 seconds on its own!
Just put some insulation tape over the annoying beeper, wow thats more like it.
    Who decided this setup?

did mine the other day, i accidently deprogrammed my remote  by doing step
    11. five times, going from lock to on, lock to on, lock to on, lock to on, lock to on.

if i remember correctly, that's what I did to de program.
To reprogram, I only did step 11. once

Thank god someone posted this my beep was driving me nuts! For some reason it kept going off sounding like a flat line on a dead put in the hospital! I just unplugged the battery and kept going so embarrassing :anonymous: I even had a lady ask me if it was her car making that horrible noise.

Just unplug it and throw it in the trash. That was mod #1 for me with this truck.
