I also miss the old days where all cars had physical keys and were never stolen.

Could always air down a couple tires if you are afraid of it being stolen, doubt they’ll would mess with two flats

You can always disconnect the cable behind the door handle, for those who don't care about the feature anyway (like me...)

cars were never stolen until all these new fangled cars came out with fancy schmancy push starts!

Most of the time that a car is stolen or a house gets broken into, the owner/home has been cased.

Came here to find this. With the keyless entry I just made a little foil pocket and wrapped it in packing tape. Slip my key in there and lock the doors manually on my way out. The spare doesn't even have a battery in it.

Is the TRD MT key is a chipped key? I dropped my key and it all fell apart.. there's a little module inside with all the push buttons. Is that also the chipped part as well?

    It's complicated.
Does your ignition use a physical key? Because if it does, that's not the issue this thread is addressing--which means that you're *probably* not affected.

Your sentence "Slip my key in there and lock the doors manually..." leads me to believe that you're talking about your key fob that requires you to press the unlock button, but uses a physical key, to start the vehicle. Yes/No?

I just bought one of those Faraday bays from Amazon. About 10 bucks and when I'm home I just put my keys in the bag. Actually helps me in that now I always know where my keys are lol.

I can’t believe this is still going. Every couple days, it’s like a new group saying the same things.

The thief's too (think you were referring to more instances popping up)... but meant TW folks saying fixes and work arounds to avoid it happening.
