Both are Stock - built correct from the start.
Can't carry beans in the short bed, and will run out of gas cause mileage sucks.

I imagine most thieves could figure it out well enough to get your truck out of the neighborhood. Driving a manual isn't rocket science.

I can’t understand why Toyota couldn’t just put a simple on/off switch on the side of each fob?:annoyed:
...wouldn’t that just make things easier for us? :canada:

Educate me on how they would amplify the signal of a key that you have to turn it. Built in kill switches are a great thing to have.

No I have the keyless entry/push start package. If the key is wrapped in aluminum foil I can have it sitting in the vehicle and it wont start.

    It's complicated.
The part I am finding confusing is where you state "the key is wrapped..." --I'm taking that to mean a physical key. Do you mean a key fob?

Yes, sorry, it is a key fob with the little glovebox key inside.

Ah, yes. Ok, now I get it. Thanks for clarifying. I always forget that little key is there.

Yep. The aluminum foil works quite well, and isn't just for wearing on one's head...

A bit of a side question here, but what happens if the truck battery is dead and you've got a fob without a physical key? Are you locked out of the truck, or is there some other way to get in?

There is a door key in the fob, even with a dead battery if you put the fob next to the button it starts. Verified with wife’s rav so sure it will work with tacoma

    2" suspension lift/wheel spacers.
One more btw... those little compartments with the rotary latch on each side back in the bed. The thief better not store any tools there... unless they want them rusted. Wtf were they thinking? Those things are useless.

Stole this from another post though I have never tried it.

you can take they key out of the fob and then turn the FOB off by holding lock and pushing unlock twice. I take my key with me kayaking and lock the fob in the truck. Easy peasy.

The fob wakes up when you press any button.
