Hey all. Long time lurker here. Tried this tonight with the Amazon relay. Can hear relay click, 4x4 light comes on, 4 low works, but locker doesn't work and locker light doesn't come on. Rechecked connections and I think they are correct. Any suggestions before I go back to factory connections? Possibly a bad relay? 2012 trd off-road. Thanks in advance.

Confirm it works without the mod, it may be a coincidence and it just failed recently.

Mine used to take a long time to engage the locker if I didn't use it often. I don't know why, and it doesn't make sense, but the more frequent I used it the faster it would engage. Drive around for a few minuets and see if it locks.

The locker light is supposed to begin blinking the second you push the button... and then goes solid when locked. He said he has no light at all.

Correct - no light at all. I just went through all the drive options on a dirt road earlier this week. Could have coincidentally gone out and will check but was hoping somebody else had a similar result with a simple solution. I may be too dumb for this mod. Prob should have left it alone.

Rechecked all connections this morning. Couldn't see where I had anything wrong. I could watch the relay working. Reconnected the factory wiring and everything works fine. Not sure why this mod didn't work for me.

Bad relay maybe? It does happen from time to time.

12VDC, I'll admit to buying the wrong one the first time. Make sure it's DC coil.

No insult at all, but I did verify the relay is correct. 12VDC

I'm technologically still in the stone age, don't have a smart phone, and can't currently upload a photo from my camera to a device capable of getting on the internet. I might be able to use my daughter's tablet but she'd have to show me how. At any rate, it is currently rewired for factory operation.

@TXpro4X4 is likely correct and I did not try driving. I broke rule #1 and didn't read closely enough in step 6 of the testing procedure where it clearly states that the locker light will now only work when the locker is engaged.

So, call me stupid. I'll post back to confirm once I have a chance to pull the glove box out and rewire the relay. Thanks for all the responses.

So I re-wired everything and drove around and still no locker. I verified the relay was correct and working off the 12v power. While driving to the grocery store and thinking about how the relay was working and what some of the tapped wires were doing I realized my problem might simply be no power to the locker motor. I pulled the vampire tap in the grocery store parking lot and sure enough it had never cut through the violet wire insulation. Never checked that going back through the connections the first time. Fixed it on the spot and could immediately hear the locker motor actuate.

Problem solved and works as advertised. Actually a very easy mod and great instructions. Thanks OP and happy New Year TW.

Ok guys any issues with this mod effecting traction control or Atrac system? I feel like I'm chasing demons here but wonder if my RR wheel locking up has something to do with this mod. Its worked flawlessly and still works when turned on. My problem seems like the brake is applying and locking up only on the RR
