As soon as a starting troubleshooting I knew it was the wrong coil.
No problem. I put it back together with spades so the new one will drop right in.
I appreciate the help and customer service

Alternating and direct current or two different power sources.
Strange is when I looked and this happened to me after switching the wires around like after reading in your first paragraph of the first post about the wires being switched around and still having issues I looked at the new relay and it says 12 volt DC so I thought all is well I just thought I was having issues so I gave up.

If you have the trd 4x4 with the electric locker in the rear diff,,,,

    Stock-it only works in 4lo

This mod allows the elocker to engage in 2wd, 4wd hi and 4wd lo

    At your own risk!
If nobody but you drives your truck and you do a lot of mixed offroading it can be very handy to not have to come to a complete stop to hit 4lo and engage the locker.

Sayyyy, youre in 2wd and a steep loose hill comes up but not really a 4wd situation or maybe its a flip it into 4hi on the fly situation and then up and over and movin on.
It saves me a lot of headache and cruise time not having to stop and go.
Or if theres a washout where youre going to hang a back tire...etc

I use it all the time in 2wd and 4hi towing my quad trailer offroad backcountry.

    Hope this helps

One of the reasons I miss the manual transfer lever, not that I would trade for a locker because they are awesome but for fairly high speed dirt roads if I felt the truck lose stability at all I could pull that lever and it was in. This electric shift takes a second or two. Maybe it just me but the on the fly the manual transfer was the shit.
I'm looking forward to completing this mod to see how the truck handles on the fly with it.

    10-4 that!!!
Give me a manual shifty lever tfer case anyday.
Miss that ol 205 slight grind CLUNK engagement in my old chevys.
Mine give a nice satisfying little "clunk" at times when going in and out.

If you get a big CLUNK
Youre doing it wrong and hammering your diff.

----Usually mine is smooth & silent and I ALWAYS disengage my abs bypass switch when using the elocker so I can tell by the dash lights when it engages and disengages----

    FORGOT AN IMPORTANT STEP!!!!!!

DO NOT ENGAGE OR DISENGAGE THE ELOCKER AT SPEED

    again

DO NOT ENGAGE OR DISENGAGE THE ELOCKER AT SPEED!

You had better be UNDER 10mph when you hit the locker!!!!
Closer to 5 or under is even better.
This is why "AT YOUR OWN RISK", and "IF YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO DRIVES YOUR TRUCK", and if you read thru this thread like a user manual you come across mention of a "SAFETY SWITCH"!! that disables the mod.....

This give the locker the ability to engage AT ANY SPEED!

Havent heard of it happening but if the button is pushed while doing 80 on the freeway......could be bad

    REAL BAD IN A HURRY

AS IN DETONATING YOUR REAR DIFF!

It'll run at speed once engaged but I wouldnt recommend over 20 but guys do powerslides and 2wheel burnouts, me included.
    But I wouldnt recommend it.
You still need to be under 10mph or slower to engage and disengage and dont hit it while the drivetrain is loaded, as in gassing up a hill and never EVER while the rear wheels are spinning!
Sometimes you still need to stop, or hit neutral, or back up, or unload the drivetrain, to get it to engage or disengage safely. Whatever it takes.
Mine slides in and out easily -most times-
Every once in a while I have to put er in neutral and coast a little bit (slowly)
And rarely, but it does happen,,, she gets stubborn and I do have to stop and reverse to get it to disengage.

Also be hyper aware of the fact you may have bumped the switch last nite when you were working on that interior mod, or your dog bumped it on, or your kids were playing in there, etc etc etc

(Or if you forget and leave it on when you leave the dirt and get back to the pavement...)

When you pull out onto the PAVEMENT for work or whatever adventure your day is bringing and you feel or hear the rear tires gripping on the PAVEMENT or your truck feels weird at all on the PAVEMENT when turning like the rear is LOCKED.

DOUBLE CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT LOCKER IS OFF.

I would not recommend running it locked on pavement.

    Off road use only!

Safely used and always aware of the manual bypass, this is one of the best mods Ive done to my truck.

    OK, disclamer off

    Happy trails

A surefire way to blow up the diff is to engage the locker with one wheel spinning and the other stopped. But a surefire way to blow up any part of the truck's drive line is to have a spinning wheel come to a sudden stop. I've personally seen axles, drive shafts, and U joints busted because of that. (never a diff though)

I do know why Toyota limits the locker to 4wd low, stupid people. To a degree I'm stupid and like lockouts and safeties to keep me from accidentally busting stuff. I also like the ability to turn the safeties off and hoon around a parking lot. Or, pull some newbie Jeep driver out of a mud hole he should have never gone into in the first place. (his words "but I have 4wd")

I wonder if one of these companies would be interested in making a replacement switch for the locker that illuminates when pushed. Like my ditch lights button.

Its weird! Looks like the switch almost has the spot for the light with even the contacts where the light makes contact but not fully cut out and has the pins but cut short for the second light. If you took a second spare switch you can probably drill a hole and re-pin extra pins in the switch to make it illuminate 20200217_153724.jpg 20200217_153744.jpg

Not sure if a newer taco than my 07 has that option

4 wires in the plug looks like?

I'll have to go through the wires to see what they do. I figured there would be three.
I dig into it when I get the new relay and have it all apart.

I have thought about it like the fog anytime but it obvious when its engaged and my hands never reached over and accidentally push the button, so I didnt.
But the fog anytime! Killed my battery before when I wen to work

    @jsi
I was looking at the relay and if I'm not mistaken this relay is made for 110 volt A/C
    15820649787207653043944442150049.jpg

This 1 is not going to work.
Even though the coil on the inside says 12 volt DC and it doesn't have enough power to operate that's what the relay does is interaction of the Transformer so energy can pass from one side to another, this relay is actually made for something for a house not a car.
    I'm pretty sure it is.

That should work. The coil is what we need at 12vdc. The contacts should not care what the voltage is as long as it is below 120v/240 10 amps.

I would think you where right but if that where correct then it should work. All I'm doing is swapping 2 wires basiclly. That's where I'm lost. I'll do it after work. To busy to go take it apart from behind the glove box.
