That looks OK to me. The actuator coil is 12 volts DC (vdc) The 10 amps 110 volts AC on the case is referring to the maximum load the relay contacts can handle. I just measured the load put on the contacts in my truck at .0012 amps. That's nothing compared to the rating of the relay.

(warning! Nerd moment read at your own risk. :D )
Because AC goes from + voltage, through 0 voltage, to - voltage it is easier to switch than DC which is constant voltage. DC will sometimes arc across the contact so manufacturers lower the rating for DC applications. Typically the DC rating is around 10 times lower than AC.

So, what does that mean in our case? Comparing 110 VAC with 12 VDC is sort of an apples and oranges thing. However if we convert the measurement to watts we can look at them on a level playing field. The relay is rated for 1100 watts AC (10A * 110 V= 1100 watts) That would derate to 110 watts DC. In our trucks we need a relay that can switch .0144 watts DC (.0012 A * 12 V). In other words it's like we have $110 in our pocket and we're spending a penny.

My original relay was an AC coil so that would blow the 10 amp fuse regardless of how I configured the red/black and the ground.
I should have the new one in a couple days and we can compare what is going on.
I would like to know what you find though.

Should be here Friday so the USPS tracker says...

I dont get it then. It's not like its complicated to read the directions, no matter what I do with 7 & 8 the fuse blows.
    Maybe something was making contact.
I will try again when I have some time and fuses.

I sent you that relay with the diode some time ago, right? Shoot me a note over on etsy.com and I'll send you a new relay. It is possible that the diode is defective.

Illuminated my 4wd switch that way.
Everything is there just like that switch, it just needed a bulb and power&ground.

And thats why I wired my stealth lights and fogs thru the auto off function,,,,the day after coming back to the truck noticing a dull yellow glow on the fence in front of my truck.
My brother says from his truck...hey bro ur gonna have to jump me my truck is dead
...last two trucks in the parking lot again as usual...

We may be screwed man, toss birds and dekes in the back reach in annnnnd my truck barely started.
    Tacoma to the rescue!
Yeah, like 12 degrees totally dark and snowing and completely deserted.

Changed that wiring the next day.
Auto off can be my friend sometimes.

    @jsi

I think I might have the wrong relay as well.

    Ordered on 12-JAN-2020
    Transaction ID: 1784046191

I haven't had the time to install and try it out and have also been watching the thread to see if I do indeed have the wrong relay.

From what I can see you should be good to go. The bad relays had a red LED.

    The relay printing is different
And the new one on the right has more Id numbers on the top and side.
Have not had a chance to install yet and try.

Sorry guys, with all this COVID-19 going on I'm in the extreme social isolation mode for now and the foreseeable future. Myself and many friends and family are in the group of people dying from this thing. So, for now I've shut down the etsy shop. I made the last shipment today, so if you're waiting, the relay is on its way.

Be safe, be healthy, and for the love of whatever god you believe in socially isolate yourself.

did you end up cutting the purple power wire from the 4wd ecu harness and splice another wire to it so It can connect to the relay?
Only reason I ask is because I’m doing the fj t case swap also and need this done but if we don’t plug in the harness to the ecu anyways then we should be able to cut the power wire and splice another wire to it so it can connect directly to the relay instead adding a Y cable and vampire tap.

I'm around. I thought ToyoRide was asking clupi what he did. I'm not sure what the FJ T case swap entails? Does it use the purple wire for power too?

Hi I was actually asking clupi haha but I started reading more on the wiring and yes I do need to use the ign + purple wire so I think I will still have to use a vampire tap or t tap to still get the power from the wire.. but still would like to know how @clupi set his up. And also very interested to see how he did his secondary switch. From what @jsi said I believe I can just use one end of a wire to connect to pin 7 and the other end to connect to pole 1 of the switch and then pole 2 of the switch connect a wire that will lead to a ground bolt. And that should complete the circuit? Sorry if I’m far off. Comprehending Electrical wiring and etc takes me longer than actual wrenching. :boom:
