I just finished this mod and everything works great EXCEPT now the locker light won't turn on... Does anyone know which connections I should check to fix this? I'm 99% sure I have everything in the right place so I think when I crimped on one of the female connectors, I squished the wire coating and not the wire. Thanks!

You don't mess with the wire that goes to the dash indicator so if you touched that you def screwed something up. It's a blue wire with yellow stripe. My guess is that the locker isn't working or you cut into the wrong wire and disconnected the light from the dash.

Well I know for sure I didn't touch a blue wire with a yellow stripe, maybe it accidentally got pulled out when I was moving the wires over. But I know the locker works for sure, I can hear it click on and did the tire rub test in 2hi 4hi and 4low so I know the locker is working, thanks for the info on that wire though

what is the "tire rub test"? Are you sure the rear diff is locking in?

The only other thing I'd recommend if you are sure you hooked it up right would be to pull the locked indication switch off the diff and have a buddy press the ball part of the switch in and see if you get the dash light.

I don't think the light turns on till it actually locks in. Push the button turn left and right while slowly moving till it locks. Then the light should come on.

This may be a sin posting another forum but look at post # 20

Yes that is exactly my problem, the light will come on when I start the car and not when I try to engage it, thanks for posting that! I'll just end up getting a new switch sometime.

When I say the "tire rub test" I mean turning on the locker while in 2hi and 4hi and then drive slow and make a sharp turn so you can hear/feel your tires "skipping" or "rubbing" as its trying to go the same speed as your other tire. Anyways mine did do this so I know for sure the mod worked. Like I said earlier I'll probably just end up replacing the switch with a covered toggle switch so it's easier to visually see whether it's on or not.

Does anyone know if after doing this mod, it will also turn off your abs anytime the locker is on? I was looking into doing the abs mod also but it sounds like I may not need to if I would only want it off when my locker is on.

Just Did. 2014 model. Only wire color difference was the red/black was more maroon/black. All the other instructions are exactly correct.

    Great Work OP!!

No only if you engage it while driving over 5mph, or while your wheels are spinning. I was driving 65+ with it locked (on dirt).

Is it dangerous/sketchy going that fast if you turn at all?

No, not unless you're turning aggressively while hammering the throttle (i.e. drifting), but even when drifting it's quite manageable when you're on dirt/sand/gravel. Way more fun too! :D When the diff lock is engaged the ABS is disengaged, but that's not really a big deal either when you're on dirt. I wouldn't try any of that on the street...
