This is great advice and truely thank you for the tips. I am going to start looking at pricing and see if this something I can afford or not.

I recommend against a lunchbox locker for a daily driver, yeah I had one in my previous truck many years ago but I was 18 years old at the time and it was all I could afford. They are really inexpensive and work great offroad, but on the street they can be very quirky and potentially dangerous especially if you live where it rains or snows a lot.

The best locker you can get is a winch and often cheaper and if you get a Warn 2” portable mount, you can transfer front to back or to other vehicles. The best money spent in my opinion.

If you’re really stuck in mud a locker will only drive you further into the mud. Plus when you sell your truck, the locker goes with it. Mods rarely increase the resale of a truck including lockers, lifts, tires, supercharges, etc. They say to the new buyer, “I beat the shit out of my truck”.

Try mods and upgrades that you can take with you.

Edit just reread, you have a 2X4 so yes a locker would bring you closer to 4x4. But if you need a locker with 2wd then you need a 4WD truck.

I understand, I can’t go back now. Only trying to add a little extra Insurance. My intentions are not to 4 Wheel Drive this truck but mainly a daily driver. I was looking at the true trac for the truck. I have seen good reviews and bad.

True Tracs are limited slips, great for extra street traction but not so great for offroading. Better than an open diff for sure, but a selectable locker will be much better for added offroad capability.

I just got the true trac ordered for the truck and also go a sweet deal on Fox 2.0 shocks and struts, should lift the truck 0-3. I should have the parts next week and then take it to Hunters 4x4 in Sacramento. Super excited for my new toys. I will post pictures as soon as it’s done. Cost for install and parts , 2400$

Nice, congrats on the upgrades. FYI, if you want to save some $$$ it's very easy to install your own suspension front/rear. The coilovers and rear shocks literally just bolt in/out, just need some basic tools and a torque wrench (and jack stands, floor jack, etc.). Installing the Tru-Trac LSD though is definitely a job for a pro

    Either way congrats!

Thank you. I am pretty much a noob when it comes to anything like this. I hate to spend the money on labor but I think it will be better to let the shop do it. Thank you again and I will up date the post with pics when the taco is done.

We all start somewhere! I was (probably still am) a noob too, I had a shop install my first suspension setup but on the second go around I did it myself and was surprised at how easy it was. No shame in letting the pros do it though

I am pretty sure the next time around I will install myself. I plan on installing the intake myself, I watched some videos on YouTube and I think I can do it. Just not sure on the lift or I am a little intimidated not sure which one yet (skill set or intimidation) haha.
