locker or no locker ?

    kinda new to the 4x4 thing, have searched and still i am a little confused.:eek: i have a 3.4l v6 4x4 and i have some confustin with the e-locker ..... ok so i have the button on the shifter for 4h 4l etc... but does that mean that i have a locker or what? any help would be GREAT and thanks in advance.

    K&N drop in filter, Magnaflow Exhaust, Billet grille. All 4 Bilstien 5100s. Fronts set at 2.5". Rear 2" AAL.
    Is it a TRD off road package? If it is then you do. The button should be to the left of your steering wheel next to your ETC button. It should say RR diff or something like that.

    de-flapped
    naw it isnt the trd it is just the sr5 package, and when i hit the button there is a lil green light that lights up and shows like an outline of the wheeles. if that makes any sense.

    Had tons on the old Taco's.... new Tundra is pretty stock
    No TRD offroad, no factory locker. Unless a previous owner installed one.

    Lockers come on the Limited and TRD packages.

    Most likely you just have a standard open diff, possibly a limited slip if it was optioned with it.

    3 inch suspension lift, night shades corner and blinkers projector headlights with halos and 3 led's 18 inch kmc xd rockstar wheels,275/65/18 kelly safari tsr's, bush whacker fender flares 7 inch touch screen, 2 kenwood 12's, Magnaflow exaust single in dual out,
    if its just the sr5 then it is an open diff. no locker and the green outline of the wheels means your in 4 wheel drive.

    The E-Locker was introduced in 1996 on 4x4 regular cab models with man trans...in 1997 The E-Locker was offered more widely...:cool:

    Differential Breather Mod Light Bar: 2 Hella 4000 HID, 1 Cibie Halogen. Bilstein 5100s Ride Rite Air Bags
    The rear diff lock is an aid mainly for climbing very steep grades in Low Range four wheel drive... Makes both rear tires get equal torque even if one looses traction or leaves the ground. Open differential means the tire not touching the ground will do all the spinning and the other does nothing to help you move on.

    Well thanks for the help guys! I didn't think I had lockers but wasn't sure. Off to use the search.... Some more!
