If you live somewhere that doesn't see alot of snow/ ice, an auto locker should be fine for a daily driver. It's less than half the cost.

I'd say your fine to go Auto-Locker, especially if your truck has an auto trans. If you do get one I'd say go with one of the Powertrax units. Their design is much more advanced than the Detroits and the No-Slip has good street manners and is very transparent.

Does the ARB locker disable the factory LSD while in open diff mode? (non- e-diff)

It depends on what kind of LSD you're refering to. If you have a mechanical kind of LSD differential then since installing an ARB locker will require you to replace your the entire differential, then you wil no longer have LSD. If you just have the Auto LSD which is actually brake actuated and has nothing to do with your differential, it will still work.

    Those were my sentiments exactly!

I got mine from East Coast Gear Supply. They have great customer support and good prices. I got mine a couple months ago, and they still had Precision Gears :woot:. They use those or Yukon's.

They ship you a fully setup 3rd and you switch it out and mail your old one back.

I've thought about the new vehicle contingency and I think the best answer is to buy your new truck before you sell the old one then swap diffs, or else if you're trading it in, have the dealer swap diffs as part of the deal. I don't plan on getting another truck for another decade or 2 though.

I got the ARB High Output compressor because I wanted to be able to fill my tires after running trails. I mounted it in the engine compartment on top of the driverside wheel well between the hydrolic pump and the batterry/ computer. The compressor is great. It fills tires WAY faster than those gas station air pumps.

I had something similar, it was alright for emergency use and that was about it. It would overheat really quick.

I did it myself and it wasn't too difficult. Could be a full day's project to switch the 3rd member if you've never done it before. Then maybe another half day for the air and electronics.

That's kinda what I did. Depending on where you are when you get back to the states there might be some members close who'd be willing to help you out. If you had some help from someone who's done this before it could easily be done in half a day.
