    Hey yall,

I've come into the market for a new locker not by choice but because i broke mine.

It wasn't engaging last time off roading. I turned it off and back on to try and get it to work and i said eff it and shut it off for good. As i drove away i heard a couple things snap in the rear end and then no noise. I still had 4 low and everything worked so i drove on.

I changed my diff oil a couple weeks later and found a bunch of little springs on my drain plug magnet. After testing the locker i heard the same sound, a few things breaking, getting mashed by a spider gear or the pinion/ring teeth and still no locker functioning.

Does anyone have any suggestions for an E locker?
My first choice is to stick with electric but second choice is an arb.

    Thank you!

Harrop or OEM are the only 2 I believe out there.

I could be wrong, but I think your only choices are OEM Elocker in your housing OR buy a complete open diff rear axle (or 05-08ish LSD axle) and install an aftermarket locker. I don't think they make an aftermarket locker for the Elocker housing. I could be wrong though.

    Yes, I haven’t seen a replacement E-locker for the 8” diff. (Factory E-Locker)
About all I’ve seen, were rebuild kits or whole 3rd member kits. Still using the 8” diff.

I guess you just build what you have with better parts?
I remember seeing a post where one member broke his a few times.
    Maybe he’ll help out?

Well today i took those springs to toyota to see where they came from and apparently they are pieces of an oil seal spring.
So i tested my locker in the parking lot and it does work but it took a lot more effort to get it to actuate. So my new assumption is that the actuator grease is old and causing friction.

I hope to just have to rebuild the actuator and ill be good to go.

The factory locker at toyota is $815 plus tax

    Thanks for everyone's help
