Is there any way to lock a bed extender so it can't get stolen? Was thinking about getting one but have heard many stories of them getting stolen right off the back of the truck. Anyone have any suggestions?

Pop n Lock locks your tailgate. Bed extender can't be removed without opening tailgate. Thats what I use.
