Anyone have a link or can you give me a rundown on lockers and what the difference types are? I want one but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on something that I won't be using all that much. I want to do some light offroading because I found some easy trails in the area but there's no way I'm going with a $900 ARB setup.

Lockers are subject to lots of stress, I wouldn't go cheap there. Plus you won't be needing a locker on "easy trails", you might as well save your money and put it towards some good tires or something. Unless you know how to do it, the $900 ARB kit is not an easy install, so you'll have to factor in some labor hours too.

One cool thing about air lockers is that you can use the aircompressor to fill an air tank and use air tools and to air up tires and reseat tire-beads, etc.

Already have good enough tires for what I need. I see your point, though.

Anyone have a link or more info?

hey thanks for the info on lockers vs auto lsd. i only ran into one situation where lockers would've helped but i was in the wrong place in a stock truck with some mod jeeps. i still made the climb and proved my TACOMA point though. thanks guys
