If you have 4wd you have to be in 4lo for the locker to engage. It usually takes a few feet or more of driving until it locks.

Yes I was in 4L but was stopped when I engaged it. This was my first time I’ve tried to use it. So after I engage it do I need to start rolling while light is still blinking?

Yes try that. Roll forward a bit and see if the light locks in solid.

    None.
The only time I've engaged mine, it wouldn't disengage. For some reason I had the bright idea to shut the truck off and restart. Doing that disengaged the rear diff locker. Just in case you have the same experience.

I would try the slow roll like the others said.
I've also put mine into neutral before to relieve tension on the driveline, usually because of the angle or position I've got the truck in at that moment on the trail.
