is it possible to disable the alarm but still lock the doors?

I know it’s a weird question, but I take my dog fishing with me and sometimes I need to leave her in the truck if I’m fishing close to a road. I like to keep the doors locked but sometimes my dog will move around in the truck and set the alarm off.

I have an 06 TRD OR

    Thank you,

    Ryan

My stereo guy installed an alarm that works with the factory keyless entry. I have the switchblade key, so I only have 1 key/fob. Somehow he rigged it so that the drivers door switch does not arm the alarm. So, you can lock the doors with the drivers door and it doesn't arm the alarm or you can lock the doors with passenger door switch, close the door and its's armed. Of coarse, if you lock it with the fob, it's armed.

    Lock it with the key.

What if you physically lock the door from the inside then close the doord?

    Might be on passive mode....

"Anti-Theft Device. There are essentially two types of anti-theft devices: passive and active. Passive devices require no action or activation and automatically arm themselves when the vehicle is turned off, the ignition key is removed or a door is shut."

After you've pulled the key out of the ignition, hop out the truck and close the door. Give it about 30-60seconds, if it arms its in passive mode. There should be a way to get it out of passive mode, so you can accomplish locking the door with the key or from the inside and the alarm not activating.

Lol! Yes it's totally possible! When my battery was going bad in the middle of nowhere one time, I got a jump and couldn't shut the truck off for 3 days until I could get to a shop to get a new battery.

    It's EEZY PEEZy!

Park the truck, leave your key in it, running. Hit the power door locks, lock all the doors. Manually flip the unlock on drivers door. Get out of the truck. Close the door with truck running (so pup has AC or heat). Use your spare key to manually lock your drivers door.

(I didn't have a pup with me, but had to leave the truck running because I knew I could not restart it, so that's what I did when I camped for the night to lock it :) )

Lots of dollars and no sense...
Put the pup in a kennel in the bed of the truck, lock the doors, wet your line, pop a top and enjoy!
