Ha, I live in SoCal. Any time I get gas under $5 it is a deal.
    No lie.
I've had my Taco 39 months and averaged $4.74 since I got it

    $2.41 - 6/5/25
    $2.79 - 6/6/25
    $2.59 - 6/8/25

They can't make up their mind on price. Ten cents per gallon or ten dollars per gallon, crack heads will be cracks heads and steal gas!

I was responding to your post:

"But gas is $1.99 a gallon right?

Who would steal gas when it's at rock bottom. We've never seen gas this low before.
I was pumping gas the other day and a man came up to me with tears in his eyes, praising the $1.99 a gallon."

The point being, some knuclehead decides to put something in your tank to destroy your engine and you're out 15K like OP mentions in his post.

Yes the design changed a few years ago after Stant was acquired by MotoRad. The new cap design is similar to MotoRad MGC791, which has been reliable in my 4Runner for the past two and half years, but I don't like having to re-lock after fueling.

If the Stant fails in my Tacoma, I will probably replace it with a MotoRad MGC791SK, which is a two-pack keyed alike, so I can use one key on both vehicles.

A customer brought his old beat up Honda and said he couldn’t fill up the gas tank and asked if there was anything I could do to remove the locking gas cap. I asked for his keys and put in one of his keys and turned hard and broke the cylinder and removed it. Just my $0.02.

My 93 came with a locking panel/door from the factory. I like them myself, wish today's vehicles had them.

^The upper trims did in fact get a powered fuel door lock starting last year. You'll have to pay today's Tacoma prices though.

^^Definitely, I'm looking at 2021-2023 Tacoma's now and a lot them are priced either at or above what they were new with 30k miles on them.

93s also had key holes for mechanical keys for pretty much everything…unfortunately society got too fking lazy to reach into their pocket and are ok to trade doing that for easier auto vandalism and theft

minor, TRD skid plate, front recovery points, Regken mud flaps, rear diff breather, AC drain pipe extended. Upgraded sound with active sub woofer, tonneau cover, CB radio.
I bought and have installed mentioned above locking fuel door from Amazon,
using for 2 years, working great.
    Was delivered without any casket (so offering installation of metal over the painted metal;
shape is in accuracy of 2mm (1/8"). Really? I have fabricated casket (using glazing rubber casket)
and longer screws to make it sitting perfectly.
Seller returns me 50% of money with apologies (accepted).
Pretty sure they have all issues fixed these days.
    Can recommend!
