    Any ideas as to why Toyota stopped putting a lock cap on Tacomas?
    My '96 has one.

    Simple Toyota is CHEAP,and they know guys will still buy their $48,000 trucks with very little upgrades.
    Toyota is still playing the Toyota name game.

    I'm still scratching my head at no oil pressure gauge.

    Yep, really surprised me that a $40k+ truck doesn't have oil gauge or locking gas cap and also fine it strange that the premium package having heated seats but not power.

    lol thats doing it the hard way, just poke your pocket knife into the front facing plastic and turn...comes right off. people who want to steal your gas will steal your gas...plus i dont think they go thru the neck, they drill a hole in the plastic tank. its a gimmick just like "security" lug nuts

    I put mine on (at least found one that didn't trigger CEL) around Mar 19, 2022.

    Works fine for me.

    @mushroom_man7

    Meh, I saw that.

    I'm from SoCal/LA but now live in Lower Slower Delaware (LSD).

    Rural & Suburban rules apply here.

    But when I venture out towards MD, PA and dare I say NJ, we don't stay long. lol

    @MulletTaco

    Buahahahaha!

    Yeah, I forgot about that.

    I took the dangle off now and "screw" directly into the holder. (Make fun of that key word) lol

    The Stant Gas Cap and Gas Cap holder have worked fine for me.

    I'm very happy that I found a cap that doesn't give off Check Engine Light errors.

    And a Gas Cap Holder that was simple to install.
