    Correct me if I'm wrong, but the lock needs to be a class 4or5 right? Just because the shaft of the class 2&3 aren't long enough to lock?

    Just remember, all it usually takes to break these off is a pipe that fits over the lock for a little leverage and they snap it off. A few locked bike racks have been stolen this way around these parts. If they want it, they'll take it, but it should keep someone from stealing a little step thats not worth the time.

    yes you are right. the one I ended up with was rated class 3-5. Which really just has a bit of a longer shaft.
