locking rear diff on 2014....

Evening everyone,

New to the forum hope to be owner of new tacoma tomorrow.

One quick question that I cant seem to get answered anywhere.
(forgot to ask dealer---he probably wouldnt know anyway)

The truck has the TRD-sport package with the electronic locking diff.

In order to lock the diff is this done with a "dash" button, if so where is the button?
Or is it engage electronically when its put in 4wd? (no driver input)


Sorry need to correct I've looked at some many truck last few weeks all running together.
the truck has the TRD-OFF ROAD PACKAGE........NOT THE SPORT PACKAGE.

Put in 4lo, while in neutral hit the diff lock button. Sometimes you have to shift from drive to reverse and turn the steering wheel, sometimes it just clicks right in

 

trd sport has LSD, no locker.

 

Thought it said off road, you has no diff lock, just a limited slip

 

Trd sport doesn't have a electronic locker or limited slip.

It does have automated lsd that actually just works the by engaging the brake on the side spinning.

If you want a locker then you need to get a trd offroad model.

 

sorry for confusion the truck in question is the TRD-OFF ROAD NOT THE SPORT.

From what was answered already apparently the locking diff is activated with a button................back to original question where is this mystery button on a 2014 ?

and dont say the dash.

 

Left of the steering wheel .. On the .. Rhymes with smash it says RR Diff Lock
