I have a cap but my tailgate doesn't lock. I'm considering taking one of the bolts on the inside of the tailgate out and replace it with a bolt with an eye and a washer. With the cap hatch open, I can then run a cable from this eye bolt to a point on the truck bed and secure it and then lock my hatch.

Anyone seen something like this or a better solution? The pop-a-lock replacement locking handles for 2nd generation tacomas have mixed reviews and people say they break. I don't want anything that isn't durable.

I bow hunt remote locations and just want to add a touch more discouragement from someone opening my tailgate and sliding my Lone Wolf treestand out. If they want my stuff, they'll have to break glass.

    Thanks - WV

This was my solution for this issue. $8 all in. Works great.31A23EE3-77F7-4F5D-A3A3-4E72E3232835.jpg9BD250A7-8AB1-4000-895D-9EBCF77FB81C.jpg
