Does anyone make any locking storage for the compartments behind the back seats of doublecabs? I frequently have my laptop with me after work and may wind up going to a park or other non-secured area where I can't see my truck after work. I've been just taking my laptop out and hiding it behind the seat, but this isn't really secure. I want to be able to lock the laptop up so if someone DOES break in that they can't get the laptop. I've seen the locking underseat options for the backseats, but they aren't big enough for a laptop.

I've searched and not found anything.. i did find a few 2nd gen threads where no one ever found a solution for this.

Personally that is why I went with a tonneau. If I'll be stopping somewhere on the way home I put my work bag in the bed before I leave the office. Anyone looking through windows will see nothing in the cab and (hopefully) move on to more attractive prey. I'd never park somewhere and move the bag to the bed, that's just advertising that I have some valuable enough to bother with.

If I didn't have a tonneau I'd consider either looping a Kensington laptop lock around a seat mount and attach it to the laptop in the compartment or use a Pacsafe type bag and in some manner lock it to the truck as well.

You could hide/disguise the pull tabs on the seats somehow to make it less obvious that there is storage there, but still accessible to you?

I guess a good thief would know, though. I keep my laptop in there as well, when stopping over afterwork. I feel pretty safe about it, if not, I take it with me.

It would be cool to change the catch latch to a lockable one like how some folks do it on the bed compartments...

i like to go ride my bike after work sometimes, so taking my laptop with me is not really an option. i've been just taking it out of the laptop bag and hiding it behind the seat. there's a small gap in between the front of that compartment and the back of the seat that is about the perfect size for a laptop. i actually found that by mistake. i went to get my laptop out and had a heart attack because i couldn't find it.. it was wedged in that gap.

I wonder if something like an ammo box (like the ones everyone attaches to the bed rails) might fit. Or something like the old record storage box (33 lp, if your that old anyway).
Dr I'll a couple of holes and mount it. If not. Under the seat lock can surely be changed over just not sure if the lap top will fit.

I know they make lockable compartments for under the rear seat.

I went thru pep boys with a crap magnet, got it all
A screwdriver would open up that plastic cover in a heartbeat, regardless if it has a key lock. After all they have already broken into your truck.
