I'm going to order one of these this evening. The high security version. Last one in "our" section.

I'll let you know impressions when it comes in....AND I have time to install it....AND it's not 100° outside because, lets face it, I'm not going to do it when it's 100° outside lol. It's not THAT important.

Maybe someone (or multiple someones) else can confirm this for me though so I know it's not just me doing something wrong. When I click on the paypal link to order that one, it should be $139 but it's showing $125. I don't have paypal, but someone I know does and will let me pay them cash for an order....handy :) ...but still, I'd like to know I'm doing it right. Far be it from me to turn down a $14 discount, but can anyone confirm they're seeing the same thing for that item?

I hate to quote myself but I called the company (seems to be one person, which is fine) and he said to just go with the $125 (not that I have a choice with paypal, AFAIK)...that the website needs to be updated and that they don't offer anything with the "standard actuator" any more, it's High Sec or nothing. So going to order tonight and give it a shot. He did take my name and truck info, and said he'd watch for it and make sure the right part # was ordered.

Also asked what the difference was between "with camera" and without...I asked a question I pretty much knew the answer to, based on price, but did that mean they come WITH an actual camera, and as expected, they do not...the ones "with camera" are set up to accommodate the camera you already have. Not sure what that means with a 100% "behind the scenes" mechanism, but no reason to tempt fate over $15 difference, so I will order the one "with camera".

Seemed like a really nice guy/company so I think I'd feel good about ordering from them, even without the paypal protections.

I see the $125 price but I didn't go through with the sale so it may be corrected at a later step.

Glad I'm getting rid of it soon. Haven't tried any key but my ignition key, but between that potential problem and the fading...serious fading...I mean, from a distance in the right sun angle, it looks almost like a chrome handle.

At any rate, it's time for it to go. I think I was too late with my order to get the "well made, not farmed out to the lowest bidder in china" product I have heard so much good about. It's a shame, really...they had a good thing going, and messed it up trying to make a few more bucks profit.

It might be...I didn't go all the way through yet either, but I'll find out tonight and post here if it changes.

Glad to see there are options now. Before, and even as recently as a year ago, all you could get was P&L...unless I was just missing all these other options, which is possible.

No, I used to make a handle out of steel with a steel finger that replaced the plastic pos that pop n lock sells, the interest wasn't that high so I went on to make other items, although I did make a dozen or so.

Just arrived today. So far all I've gotten around to is unboxing. I did take a couple pictures, but there's not much to see. It's instructions, a bag of wires and a lock mechanism....in a box :) .

When I get around to installing it, I'll try to take some pictures and write it up here.

Question for confirmation: The instructions say for my truck (4 door) find the blue/black and blue/pink wires in the drivers side pillar (between the doors). I think I remember reading some controversy on here about that. I don't remember the specifics but seems like someone said don't use those, use a different pair in a different bundle maybe even....?? Any ideas.

Also, to @JAGCanada : Does your tailgate unlock with the door buttons also, or do you have to use the remote? And maybe you can confirm or deny the last paragraph too.

Anyhow, may have more this weekend on the install.

    1. When using the fob, the tailgate lock unlocks when the fob is pressed 2 times, just like the non-driver door and locks on single lock press.

    2. The tailgate also locks and unlocks with the power door lock switch located near the arm rest.

Just a matter of finding the correct wires to tap into. It was years ago that I did it and can't remember at this point. I think mine is tapped into what ever wire powers the rear door lock.

I get my truck rust proofed annually. The first one I installed failed shortly after I had my truck rustproofed - I think the rustproofed spray messed with the solenoid. I received a second one under warranty and when I installed it, I wrapped the whole assembly in a plastic bag, with the rod protruding through the bag. It has been working 8 ish years no problem, still rust proofed annually.

I figured as much with the lock buttons, but was just curious. Sometimes I don't carry my fob and just use the key to unlock the doors.

If all else fails, I'll take a educated guess on the wires and put a meter on them and have someone hit the lock button...if it flashes 12V that's a winner, I suppose.

    Thanks for the info

The Pace Edwards site says: Locate the blue and blue w/white wires on the driver’s side under the kick panel (the part beside your left foot, as you are sitting in the truck). Attach one wire tap to the blue wire and the other wire tap to the blue w/white wire. *A fuse is provided in the wire harness.

So that is different from the color wires in your instructions.

I'll probably dig into it this weekend. I figure the worst that can happen is, I tap two wrong wires...the lock doesn't do anything...and I take the taps back off those 2 wires, tape em up, and try a different set. (not all willy nilly, but ya know...try all the possible sets of wires that could be the ones)

That gives me another shot at it, so thanks for the info.

The Blue/Black and Blue/Red wires are the ones that worked for my unit. The directions that came with the unit stated those wires. Different from the instructions I posted earlier.
It works great. Locks and unlocks with the rest of the doors.

I misquoted my instructions from memory (or lack of), when I said it was the B pillar. It says drivers side kick panel for a 4 door.

As you can see mine says blue/black and blue/pink, which I suspect is the same as your blue/black and blue/red.

I didn't get to mine last weekend...maybe this coming, hopefully.

Glad you got yours working and thanks for the confirmation on colors.

    Questions for you though....

How many blue/black and blue/red wires are under the kick panel? Hoping only one of each lol.

And kick panel means the thing next to the fake gas pedal/foot rest? Or the panel that lays on the floor in the door opening? I'm assuming the one you might "kick" while driving that rises up to the upper dash/steering wheel area...??
